Mountain Bike Club - Race #2 @ Rockabilly Ridge, Oakfield, TN
Today was a perfect, cool day for a bike race. This 3 mile course in Pugh Bourne Park is a challenging trail because of its tight switchbacks, steep climbs and loose dirt. The 8th grade girls had to ride 2 laps, for a total of 6 miles. Claire Dehner (8th grade) rode this course last year and beat her time today by more than 10 minutes (51:29) as compared to last year’s result (1.03:30). She has been working very hard on her skills and her fitness and it’s showing! We have 2 more races this season. We will be at Lock 4 in Gallatin on 9/22 and Raccoon Mountain, Chattanooga on 10/27 for the state championship. Claire's teammates will be joining her for our final two events of the season. This is Claire’s 3rd and final year mountain bike racing for Harding and her dedication to this sport and commitment to our team are inspirational.

Varsity Girls Tennis Start the Season Strong with a 7-0 Win
Harding Academy Girls Varsity Tennis started the season as strong as they could with a clean sweep at Lipscomb Academy. Every girl took home the win for Harding, and played a strong competitive match.  Shoutout to Margaret Greathouse at #1 singles for playing a very strong opponent and handled it with grace to take the match 8-3. Another shoutout goes to Logan Scott at #2 singles for fighting hard back and forth throughout the whole match, and came out on top after a long battle 8-6. Another huge victory goes to Claire Ellis and Karson Speyer at 2 doubles, as they worked well together to take the victory over Lipscomb 8-4. Go Hawks!
