For PreK–8 students, simply summoning the courage to try is a crucial life skill, one that often reveals hidden talents and develops new confidence.
Arts at Harding Academy
From the very beginning, the arts have been a vital and fully-integrated part of the Harding Academy experience. Through visual arts, performing arts, and music, our students are challenged to stretch themselves, to try new things.
By combining art instruction with art history, our visual arts program creates an immersive experience that not only sharpens artistic skills but also enriches students’ understanding of historical and cultural contexts.
Consistent with our PreK–8 philosophy, school plays and other performances are one of the most important ways we provide students the opportunity to grow skills of leadership and self-presentation. Our fifth- and sixth-graders all learn an instrument—many of them for the first time—and play in the school band.
