Varsity Girls Basketball Continues Winning Ways
The Hawks traveled to Poplar Grove in Franklin on Monday, January 13. The defensive effort was evident at the end of the first half. The score was 13-4 in favor of the Hawks. Louisa Smith led the team in scoring with 9 points. Caroline Sheets and Jamie Gaddie Embry added 4 points each in the win. The final score was 23-9. On Wednesday, January 15 the Hawks traveled to JPII to play conference foe Pope Prep. This was by far the most complete game put together by the girls. Louisa Smith led the team with 11 points. Jamie Gaddie Embry added 8 points. The energy with our press throughout the game caused havoc for Pope Prep. The final score was 37-13. The girls are on a five game winning streak and they are starting to hit their stride as a team. Way to go Hawks!

Tough Loss for 6th Grade Boys Basketball vs. Lipscomb Academy
The Harding 6th grade boys basketball team took on Lipscomb Academy in a hard fought battle on the court Thursday night. The boys were coming into this game after a long week of playing multiple games. The game started out slow for Harding, falling behind in the first quarter, but fighting back hard in the second quarter with tough defense from Rex Waddey'27, Nash Donahue'27, and Henry Hardin'27 and scoring from Pike McDaniel'27 and Cole Gerber'27.

In the second half, Harding continued to fight back and bring down the deficit with amazing help from Cullen Weaver '27, Owen Sheets '27, Leland Kivett '27, Austin Snedeker '27, and Ethan Bannock ’27 coming off the bench providing some great defense.

Late in the game, Pike McDaniel ’27 scored multiple 3-pointers to decrease the lead to 12 but it was not enough to complete the comeback with Harding falling 37-25. Pike led the team in scoring with 14 points followed by Cole with 6 points. Nash and Rex also provided scoring with 3 points and 2 points respectively.
