Varsity Boys Soccer Defeats MBA to Remain UNDEFEATED!!
Harding soccer made history with our first-ever win against MBA, grinding out a 1-0 victory. This was one of the closest and most evenly matched games of the season, with every player showing relentless commitment. Jackson Hall scored the game-winning goal off a smart assist from Henry Rupert, capitalizing on one of our few opportunities in a match that required total effort on every chance we got.

Smith Morris demanded to play on defense knowing he was better than MBA’s toughest players with total confidence, winning every 1v1 matchup and solidifying our defense. Meanwhile, Henry Rupert, positioned at center midfield, left no area of the field untouched, tirelessly supporting every offensive opportunity and defensive need.

Relentless defensive efforts by Elijah Westbrook and Avin Burditt were equally crucial. Both players denied MBA’s attempts to break through, intercepting passes and winning every aerial challenge. Their dedication to controlling the backfield kept MBA from establishing any momentum. And in his first start of the season, Grayson Margolis put on a phenomenal defensive performance, playing “out of his mind” and proving himself a crucial part of our backline. Riley Bundren anchored our defense in goal, delivering clutch saves to maintain the shutout while also directing the team with focus and precision from the backline.

Every player gave up some blood, sweat, and tears to go above and beyond what was asked of them to do everything necessary to make this win happen. Stepping up defensively, making countless goal-stopping plays that contributed to the shutout—so many, in fact, that it’s impossible to list them all. This was an outstanding team effort, and I couldn’t be prouder of the heart, resilience, and history-making spirit every player showed last night.

Varsity Girls Soccer Beats FCA 5-0
Harding girls' soccer moved to 2-2 on the season with a win over FCA last night. Louisa Smith scored two goals, giving the Hawks a 2-0 lead going into the half. Riley Berteli scored one, adding to her season total. Sumner Hanks and Caroline Sheets scored their first goals and played a solid defensive game. Margaret Greathouse recorded another shutout in the net. Go Hawks!

Varsity Girls Soccer Takes Down USN 4-0
Harding Girls' Soccer won its third game Wednesday night against USN. Louisa Smith scored a hat trick and three goals, and Riley Bertelli scored the Hawks' other lone goal. The defensive squad led by Margaret Greathouse and Caroline Sheets recorded another shutout for the Hawks. With this win over USN, Harding moves to 2-2 in HVAC play. The Hawks are back in action on Monday, November 11th, at Harpeth Hall starting at 4pm.

Harding Wrestling Falls in Dual Matches, But Continue to Improve
The Harding Academy varsity wrestling team had two dual meets last week, but was unable to score enough points for a team victory in either contest. The Hawks, however, continue to make individual improvements as the wrestling season progresses.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, Harding traveled to Hendersonville to take on the JP II Knights. It was a closely contested match, but the Hawks fell in the end, 42-35. Winning varsity matches for Harding were Connor Gunnels '27, Ben Lucas '25 and Finn Castle '25. There were also several wrestlers who were victorious in exhibition matches. Luke Becker '27, Jet Taylor '27, Ben Lucas '25 and Finn Castle '25 all won their exhibition matches.

The next evening, Harding welcomed the BGA Wildcats to Roberts Gymnasium. BGA is one of the traditional powers in middle school wrestling in the Harpeth Valley Athletic Conference. BGA came out on top, 59-24, but 4 Harding wrestlers won varsity matches. Congratulations to Connor Gunnels '27, Ben Lucas '25, Finn Castle '25 and James Held '26, all of which had pins in their matches to tally the Hawks 24 points.

Harding Wrestlers Take on Grace Christian and MBA
Harding had two more dual meets this week on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against Grace Christian Academy and Thursday, Nov. 7 against the Big Red of MBA. The wrestlers continued to make progress even in the face of some very stiff competition.

Against GCA, Ben Lucas '25 and Finn Castle '25 continued their win and pin streak. Both wrestlers remain undefeated on the season. Ari Hasson '25 also won a varsity match for the Hawks! Winning exhibition matches for Harding were 5th Graders Benjamin Reavis, John Bickerstaff, and Charlie Puryear.

The Hawks welcomed MBA to Roberts Gymnasium on Thursday, Nov. 7. Connor Gunnels '27 got the match started off in a great way with a pin. Ben Lucas '25 and Finn Castle '25 followed with pins in their matches. Both Lucas and Castle are headed towards being tops seeds in the Harpeth Valley Athletic Conference Tournament in a few weeks. A handful of Harding wrestlers recorded exhibition victories. John Bickerstaff '28, Benjamin Reavis '28, Gideon Johnson '28, Reid Hocker '28, and Elliott Mangano '26 all pinned their opponents.

Three dual meets remain for the Hawks in the regular season. Next Tuesday, Nov. 12 Harding will travel to FRA and on Thursday, Nov. 14 they will host Brentwood Academy. Go Hawks!!

JV Boys Soccer vs MBA
Harding JV boys took on MBA in a tough fought battle yesterday. MBA had a good team with all players being in 7th or 8th grade which we knew would be a test for our majority 6th grade team. We played hard the entire game and never gave up, but the hawks were ultimately defeated.
